Postponing House Arrest: Lauryn Hill set to embark on a post-prison tour

   Upon a days early release from prison, Grammy award-winning singer Lauryn Hill has been granted permission to go on tour before completing a three-month home detention sentence, according to Hillâs lawyer, Attorney Nathan Hochman.
This past July, the former Fugees singer/rapper was sentenced to serve three months in prison for failing to pay taxes from 2005 to 2007 on more than $1.8 million earned by the 38-year-old entertainer. Hill also failed to pay taxes on $2.3 million worth of big bucks between the years of 2008 and 2009.
In addition to the prison sentence, Hill was given three months of home detention as part of a year âof court-ordered supervised release, thatâs to be served in her house in South Orange, New Jersey.
Luckily for Lauryn, the soul artist was released from a federal facility in Danbury, Connecticut on October 4th â some days before her initial release date. She went scotch free allegedly for good behavior, according to Hochman.
After Hill was released, she made it clear she wasnât the one to keep her fans waiting. Immediately she asked a court judge to put her home detention on hold so she could tour from Nov. 15 to December 31.
Hill will resume home detention on January 1st for the duration of her sentence.
In Newark, U.S. Magistrate Madeline Cx Arleo signed an order on October 1st, modifying Hillâs supervised release conditions.
Arleoâs court filing says Hill must report âa detailed itinerary, including the dates, cities, and hotels where she will be stayingâ while on tour.
Attorney Hochman has not released the details of Hillâs tour and hasnât disclosed if she will be head lining her own or participating in another artistâs tour.
Rapping over a strong rock production, Lauryn has decided to step away from traditional R&B and released a song, âConsumerismâ, after being released.
