Punish Gunners/Inept Congress Person, not Guns

It is senseless how citizens and legislators react to gun violence. If a driver kills a pedestrian, punish the driver, not the car; should a doctor cause patient death, punish doctor, not the scalpel, terrorists’ kills’ Ameri-cans, try/convict the terrorists, not their religion. Thus, when a gunner commits a crime, punish the gunner, not the gun.

However, in every ex-ample cited above, no local government, organization, or lobbyists should be able to prohibit Congress from enacting laws to ensure the safety of its citizens.

The Second Amendment merely grants people” the rights to own and to bear arms. It doesn’t set limits on the quantity of gun ownership, the types, or their fire power. Further, it doesn’t even mention that people have the right to purchase ammunitions of any kind or quantity. It is assumed that if you can buy a gun you can purchase ammunition.

The 2nd Amendment must be read very carefully in order to understand what regulations would be legal and represent commonsense. Just maybe, it would be easier to regulate the purchase of bullets.

‘In the absence of any common sense specificity within the 2nd Amendment, Congress has the authority and the responsibility to enact common sense gun legislation to ensure that people are protected against senseless gun violence .

Clearly, our government is no longer of, for, and by the people, but rather of the elected official, for the rich, and by the lobbyists. When a Nation’s people
merely resort to praying, burning candles, building flower memorials, etc., they’ve surrendered their power to make the government work for them. The question is, “How can the people make their government work for them?” Their most powerful weapon, though too slow, to cause immediater(;} if’I”‘change, is the “Vote.” Therefore, people must r resort to protest which can change any government. This protest must be vociferous, continuous, invasive, and disruptive, but peaceful.

Because Congress assumes that the protesters’ unrest will quickly vanish, as in the past, they must be witlingly to make, if necessary, painful sacrifices.

Clogged highways and targeted boycotts are effective. Why should the NRA and their lobbyists be able to prevent Congress from performing its legislative responsibilities to the people? Thankfully, the auto industry and their lobbyists have no such control. If they did, we probably wouldn’t have seatbelts, air bags or the right to impose speed limits. The goal isn’t a “Gun less Society,” but rather a Society with less military type guns, that can’t be easily purchased by individuals without meaningful background checks.
