“Leaders who concede power and territory to a Dictator only become their gracious puppet.” John Johnson II 08/20/25
By John Johnson II
President Trump must realize that Putin’s goal is to gain a military and economic advantage over America. Allowing Putin to conquer Ukraine would constitute one of the greatest blunders since believing Saddam Hussen had Weapons of Mass Destruction. This blunder led to loss of lives of America’s military service men and women and a disruption of peace in the Middle East.
If President Trump is willing to broker a peace deal with Putin that concedes any portion of Ukraine, it would be tantamount to behaving as a puppet controlled by Putin, the “wanna” be Master Puppeteer. Further, our President’s powerful image as the ultimate “Deal Maker” loses it auror of strength and invincibility. This should never happen.
President Trump’s unwilling-ness to never negotiate away America’s power and security should not be influenced by a friendly handshake and a terse smile with an adversary. The two Leaders ride in “The Beast,” were merely undeserving diplomatic gestures of good will. For the American people, nothing more.
Once the “Red Carpet” stroll ended and the face- to-face talks began, a strange sighting occurred. A news camera recorded Putin’s left leg flexing vigorously and uncontrollably. This momentary, unusual physical reaction should raise concerns about Putin’s health. Rumors, though unconfirmed, have circulated about him suffering from an illness.
Putin should have never displayed a sign of weakness to the world, let alone to President Trump. Thinking for moment, maybe Putin’s body swagging and arm swinging walk compensated for a health issue. Noticeably, Putin’s cheeks appeared the size of golf balls; thus, giving him the appearance of continuous eye “squinching.”
However, President Trump’s awareness of what is at stake must remain vigilant, but not on Putin’s health issues. Putin wants control of Ukraine’s vast $15 trillion trove of mineral resources. Before the war, Ukraine was the top producer of agriculture products such as sunflower oil, barley, corn, and wheat. These resources are too worth trillions.
One possible diplomatic approach could involve including a provision in a peace agreement that grants Putin a limited exclusive opportunity to purchase Ukraine’s mineral and agricultural resources, but at negotiated prices. As in a game of Chess, no one wants to hear “Check Mate!
Hopefully, President Trump will not allow Putin to gain the upper hand during these negotiations. He should not recommend that President Zelenskyy concede any of Ukraine’s territory including that which is currently controlled by Putin in any peace deal! Certainly, President Zelenskyy, or anyone else, would have the audacity to recommend that America trade away any portion of Taiwan to China as part of a peace plan. Ukraine, its people, and its invaluable mineral and agriculture resources cannot be allowed to come under Putin’s control.
Yes, the stakes are extremely high. But they are also seething with potentially dangerous consequences. Conceding Ukraine to Putin would severely shift the balance of power away from America and our NATO ALLIANCE. This is not a Chess match where Putin gets to yell Checkmate” to President Trump.
Again, Putin, gaining control of some of the world’s most valuable mineral and agricultural resources, is not an option. President Trump and America’s Congress cannot afford to concede power and valuable resources to a deceitful and dangerous adversary!
YOU BE THE JUDGE!
