    Rattler Volleyball Improves to 8-0 in SWAC Play

           PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | Florida A&M volleyball continued its magical start in Southwestern Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 win over Prairie View A&M (25-14, 25-18, 25-18) on Friday (Oct. 18). In the decision, the Rattlers improved to 8-0 in conference competition with seven consecutive sweeps.

    GAME NOTES

    • Brooke Lynn Wattsled both offenses with a match-high 12 kills. Brookelynn Thomas added nine with a pair of blocks.
    • Alexandra Kolevafinished with a match-high 25 assists.
    • Tinons Galmésrecorded a match-high 10 digs.
    • FAMU’s overall record sits at 16-5; the team is also currently working a nine-match winning streak.

    SET ONE | The Rattlers took the first three points of the set and cruised to a 20-11 advantage. They led the set from start to finish.

    SET TWO | Despite jumping out to an early 4-1 lead, Florida A&M saw its lead evaporate at 8-all. The visitors used an 8-3 run to regain their lead and maintained it the rest of the way.

    SET THREE | The Panthers held an early 5-2 edge but couldn’t sustain it. On back-to-back possessions, Farah Farooq recorded a kill and solo block; the latter tied things at 7-7. There were five more ties in the set with the last at 13-all.

    The stalemate proceeded a 6-2 FAMU run.

    The Rattlers will return to action Sunday in a 5 p.m. ET match at Texas Southern.
