    Renaissance: The works of Philippe Dodard at Miramar Cultural Center’s Ansin Family Art Gallery

    Art “BASELing” Miramar style

         MIRAMAR, FL — Miami Counsul General of the Republic of Haiti Francois Guillaume II, Broward County Commission Mayor Barbara Sharief and other dignitaries joined celebrated Haitian artist Philippe Dodard at the opening reception for his exhibition, Renaissance: The Works of Philippe Dodard at Miramar Cultural Center | ArtsPark Ansin Family Art Gallery.

    Born in Port-au-Prince, Dodard is a celebrated Haitian painter, graphic artist and illustrator, whose works have been exhibited throughout the Americas and Europe and include large sculptures, iron-works and jewelry designs as well as paintings. His work has been credited as the inspiration for Donna Karan’s 2012 Spring/Summer collection.

    This exhibition is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.MiramarCulturalCenter.org or call (954) 602-4500. The gallery is open Monday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
