TAMARAC, FL – Yesterday, Florida’s Supreme Court issued two rulings on abortion, confirming the state’s 15-week ban and paving the way for a six-week ban to be enacted. The Court also clarified that the attempt to amend the abortion requirements met the requirement to place abortion on the ballot in November of 2024. Even though the six-week abortion ban will go into effect in thirty days, Floridians will have the choice to vote on Amendment 4, which will decide whether the six-week ban will remain. In response to this decision, Florida State Senator Rosalind Osgood (D-Broward County) released this statement:

“This decision is a pivotal moment for our state. Allowing millions of Floridians to vote on this matter will accurately reflect the will of the people, ensuring that their voices are heard, and their rights are protected.”

As November approaches, Senator Osgood urges all citizens to exercise their right to vote, emphasizing the significance of participating in shaping the future of not just reproductive rights but all rights in Florida.
