FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (June 13, 2022) – Broward Education Foundation in collaboration with Destination Dorm, Children’s Services Council of Broward County, Broward County Public Schools Homeless Education Assistance Resource Team (HEART) and Immanuel Temple Church delivered dorm essentials to Broward County public high school graduating seniors who have experienced housing instability or extreme adversity, during the recent drive-through Senior Send-Off celebration.

The graduating seniors received laptops, bedding, pillows, laundry baskets, lamps, toiletries and much more to ensure they can comfortably transition into the next exciting phase of their lives. In addition, Broward Education Foundation surprised 25 students with Florida pre-paid, four-year scholarships funded through The Frederick A. Deluca Foundation.

“We are so proud of these hardworking young graduates and hope a carload of dorm room supplies will offer a leg up as they embark on the next chapter of their educational journey,” said Shea Ciriago, CEO of Broward Education Foundation. “Thanks to the generosity of The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation, we were able to provide scholarships to 25 promising grads, allowing them to fulfill their dream of attending college.”
