    Ora Lee Greene BIO

    Ora Lee Greene, was born on a Monday, October 22, 1923 in Dawson, Georgia to the late Mary Bell and Kenneth Poole, Sr.  Ora is the oldest of 5 siblings the late Bertha Walker, Kenneth, Jr., Curtis, Charlie and Amos Poole. Ora attended the Dawson, GA school system. In 1940, Ora married the late Samuel T. Greene, Sr., and moved to Jersey City, NJ. Ora being the devoted christen that she was became a member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church. She then went on to work for Jacob Brothers and Chester’s as a seamstress. When Ora retired from the seamstress business she then went to work at Milestone Daycare as a childcare assistant.

    In 1992 Ora, made the decision to move to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to be closer to her mother and sister. Ora who always loved working with children then got a job at the Wingate Oaks Center School as a Foster Grandparent. The Lord put it in her heart to become a member of the New Hope Baptist Church where she is known as Mother of the church. Ora’s favorite color is purple, bible verse is Psalm 23 and favorite song is Blessed Assurance. If you ask Ora what she loves the most… she will tell you “Everything About The Lord.”

    Ora’s greatest accomplishments for the past 100 years is being a faithful woman of God and the mother of three sons Artless Poole, Joseph and the late Samuel T. Greene Jr. Mother in-law of Belinda VanDross-Poole. Grandmother of Tawanda Weaver, Dante’, Artless and Andrew Poole. Great Grandmother of Dr. Eric D. and Jarvis Weaver, Daniel, Joseph, Justus, Josiah, Jordan, Vaughn and Xavier Poole. Great-Great Grandmother of Shaniyah and Nature Weaver.
