PEMBROKE PINES, FL — Four middle school students from Children’s Harbor began the school year in style thanks to the Jason Taylor Foundation’s annual “Cool Gear for the School Year” initiative, a unique back to school shopping experience for underserved students.

The goal is to help these students find the confidence they need to start the new school year. They each received a $300 gift card to spend on back-to-school gear at Old Navy. Among those in attendance to help the students shop were former NFL stars Jason Taylor, O.J. McDuffie, Vernon Carey, Troy Drayton and Shawn Wooden and T.D., the Miami Dolphins mascot.

“We could not be more grateful to the Jason Taylor Foundation for their generosity and support,” said Tiffani Dhooge, President and CEO of Children’s Harbor. “The Jason Taylor Foundation understands that our kids really struggle with self-confidence and this experience has helped tremendously with that.  It’s amazing to see the impact that something as simple as a few new outfits can have on a child’s self-esteem.”
