        Four decades of service is a remarkable achievement in any profession. It represents commitment, perseverance, leadership, and a dedication to serving others that spans generations. Broward County is fortunate to have two outstanding public servants whose careers exemplify those qualities: Chief Deputy Mary Hall of the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office and Conrad Strong, Assistant Director of Operations at Port Everglades.

      ARLCC is proud to announce the institution of an annual lecture in honor of the legacy of cultural anthropologist, Africanist, university president, and Fort Lauderdale native, Dr. Niara Sudarkasa.

     The TJ Reddick Bar Association proudly presents the “From Brown to Broward” exhibit, a poignant tribute to the groundbreaking legal work of the late Attorney W. George Allen. As the first African American graduate of the University of Florida College of Law in 1962, Attorney Allen blazed a trail that significantly impacted the landscape of education and civil rights. Attorney W. George Allen earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M University, in Tallahassee, Florida.

First Tee, a youth development organization that teaches life skills and helps kids and teens build their strength of character through golf, will host the First Tee Game Changers Academy Honoring Joe Louis Barrow, Jr. Philadelphia, July 19-23, 2022. Seventy-two teens from First Tee chapters across the country have been selected for the five-day learning and empowerment academy to explore issues of identity, racism, equity and empathy.
