Recently the Florida Memorial University (FMU) Board of Trustees unanimously cast a vote of confidence in Interim President William McCormick, recognizing his exceptional leadership and strategic vision during his first six months in office. Under McCormick’s guidance, the university has embarked on a transformational plan that is steering FMU towards a promising future.

In a decisive step toward advancing Florida A&M University’s (FAMU) strate1gic priorities, Provost Allyson L. Watson has established an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Advisory Council and a Carnegie Research 1 (R1) Task Force. Both initiatives underscore FAMU’s commitment to preparing students for emerging workforce demands and to positioning the University as a leader in high-impact research.

       “The grant proposal was submitted to NSF’s Ethical and Responsible Research (ER2) program, which has an aim to support fundamental research about what constitutes or promotes responsible and ethical conduct of research (RECR) — particularly research with human subjects as participants,” Jackson said. “In that, grant programs through NSF are generally very competitive, I wanted there to be little doubt about what we were aiming to do. So, the title explicitly indicated what our project is about. “
