The Reverend Pauli Murray was a visionary legal scholar, civil rights activist, poet, and the first African American woman ordained as a priest in The Episcopal Church. A tireless advocate for racial and gender equality, her groundbreaking work laid the foundation for landmark civil rights legislation and continues to inspire movements for justice across the world.

       With heavy hearts and deep compassion, we share the sorrowful news of the passing of Mrs. Margaret Porter-Hall, beloved former President of the Florida Memorial University National Alumni Association. Mrs. Porter-Hall was a dedicated leader whose legacy and love for FMU touched the lives of many.

      Mr. Melvin Brooks, Deerfield Beach native and Blanche Ely graduate, Class of ‘66, has been appointed Post Commander of Glenn Miller Post 287. Mr. Brooks was duly installed on Sunday, June 25, 2023 , during ceremonies sanctioned by the American Legion and Auxiliary Association in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

   The 2023 Curtis L. Armstrong Mays High School “All Alumni” Ram Roundup will take place on June 24, starting at 10 a.m., at the Wilbur B. Bell Park (formerly West Perrine Park), 10301 SW 170 Terrace.
