Under the South Florida sun and surrounded by community leaders, elected officials, family members, supporters, and generations of lives she helped shape, Congresswoman Frederica Wilson received one of the highest honors a community can bestow — a street bearing her name. The historic street-renaming ceremony took place Friday in Miami Gardens, where city officials formally dedicated a roadway in honor of the longtime educator, mentor, legislator, and congressional representative.
