     In 2022, Janice Pettyjohn made headlines as the first woman hired full-time by the Howard University football program. Three years later, she has firmly established herself as a vital figure in the HBCU football program’s leadership. Pettyjohn now serves as Director of Player Personnel and On-Campus Recruiting. Her promotion highlights her expanding influence at Howard University, one of the most respected programs among HBCU institutions.

   The HBCU Combine, held at the New Orleans Saints’ Ochsner Sports Performance Center, exposed 45 prospects from dozens of Black colleges across the country to all 32 NFL teams.

       Look for airtight and food grade containers. If made from plastic, check for a “BPA-free” label. BPA, or Bisphenol A, is a chemical found in hard plastics and is a known endocrine disruptor, according to the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Many manufacturers have since removed BPA from their products. You should also avoid containers with recycling codes 3, 6 or 7, per the American Academy of Pediatrics‘ recommendations. Containers with these codes contain phthalates, styrene and bisphenols, respectively.

      Although Donald Trump, as president, proclaimed in his 2020 State of the Union address that he had produced a “blue-collar boom” in workers’ wages, the reality was quite different. Using his control of the executive branch of the U.S. government, Trump repeatedly undermined the wages of American workers by blocking raises and imposing wage reductions.

Community college borrowers, who represent a significant portion of the student population, would also benefit from the administration’s initiatives. The Biden-Harris administration’s SAVE Plan, which aims to make community college more affordable, projects that 85% of community college borrowers could be debt-free within ten years. However, Latino students comprise a substantial proportion of community college enrollees and need help completing their degrees and repaying loans.
