Gloria participated in the local public school system as a youth, attending the renown Dillard High School. Excelling academically, she became Valedictorian for the Class of 1958. After graduation, she ventured onward to the highest hills in Tallahassee to attend Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in Guidance & Counseling, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration & Supervision.
Next week, the Morgan State University Magnificent Marching Machine will proudly perform in the D-Day 80 Normandy Parade on June 6, 2024, in Normandy, France.

According to his son, Black Enterprise CEO Earl “Butch” Graves Jr., he passed away quietly at 9:22 p.m. on April 6, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Graves was 85.
