The wicked Commander in Chief of the United States has ordered his Republican parrots in Congress to repeat his calls for Republican governors and state legislators to gerrymander, or redraw, state and federal political districts.
Trump needs to change the customary redistricting that takes place every ten years to empower Republicans and Democrats must stop the GOP to save American democracy.
If you don’t know, it has not been unusual for Black state legislators to help Republican gerrymanders.
You see, oftentimes Black elected officials in states have been tricked into voting for Republican redistricting efforts.
Let me explain. Years ago, at least 30 years ago, Democrats needed Black votes in state legislator’s votes to stop Republican redistricting proposals. So GOP members would go to Black legislators and tell the Black elected officials, “We’re going to create more House seats, Senate seats, and perhaps, one or two Congressional seats for African Americans.”
Many Black state legislators saw Republican redistricting as personal opportunities to get more Black seats and didn’t even consider the threats of Republican governing.
So, Republicans drew districts that would take all predominately Black polling places out of customary districts and put Black voters in long, snake- like districts that included 5,6, or 7 counties.
The Republican voters knew that Blacks voted about 90% Democratic, so when they took Blacks out of most districts and created new “Black districts”, it was easy for white Republicans to defeat white Democrats with Black Democrats out of the way.
Was the GOP plan a “sell out” or a “Get me a Senate seat or a Congressional seat” plan?
Anyway, the truth is, Black elected officials don’t need 60, 70, 80, or 90% Black districts to win legislative or congressional races. Good Black candidates can win in districts with 25% or 30% registered Black voters if they are good candidates with good campaigns.
Be advised, what Trump is trying to do is for Trump to get a Congress that will forever suck up and bow down to Donald Trump. The President wants more Congressmen and women that will lie, cheat and steal, like he does, while dismantling all programs like Medicare, Medicaid, social security, Veterans Affairs, food programs, education and other programs that the American people like and want.
The only way I see to avoid a Criminal Congress is to vote out EVERY Republican member in Congress for the next three or four year elections.
Some Democrats are proposing redistricting in blue, or Democratic-controlled states. Good luck with that.
Such a proposal dismisses the fact that MAGA Democrats exist that cringe at the possibilities of voting for Black or Hispanic candidates.
If Democrats continue to pay all-white consultants millions of dollars toi lose elections. It won’t matter who draws, or redraws, district lines in America.
