The House Select Committee investigating the deadly Jan. 6 insurgency at the US Capitol will hold its second public hearing of the month. This hearing, according to Committee Vice Chair Rep. Liz Cheney, will focus on presenting findings that show former President Trump engaged in “a massive effort to spread false and fraudulent information” despite the fact that “Trump and his advisers knew that he had, in fact, lost the election.” Former Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien, former Fox political editor Chris Stirewalt, and conservative Republican election attorney Ben Ginsberg will testify at the hearing. While the committee cannot bring legal charges against Trump, its primary goal has been to learn the full extent of Trump’s unprecedented attempt to obstruct the transfer of power.
