The politics of justice reflects untold social injustices

    By Derek Joy

    There it is. Justice.

Or is it just another grand ideal for people of color.

That confounded George Zimmerman once again is cause to shake one’s head. The scoundrel is at his bullying games again. A law unto himself; thumbing his nose at the law.

Zimmerman has not taken a break since his July acquittal for the unprovoked shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26, 2012, in a gated community in Sanford, Fla.

Less than a week after his estranged wife, Shellie, filed for divorce, he again initiated a heated confrontation. Up to no good, perpetrating dastardly deeds at his father-in-law’s Lake Mary ho-me.

Unfortunately, Martin’s youth and inexperience of life in a new setting might have been the reason he did not dial 911 wrongfully pursued, confronted and provoked him into a fight that led Zimmerman to shoot and kill him.

Shellie Zimmerman called 911 and reported domestic violence.

Interestingly enough, she touched on hidden assets in her recent divorce petition, no doubt angered her ego driven spouse. A sure fire way to anger George Zimmerman.

Could be he was angered even more by her revelations that the she was staying at her father’s home the night Martin was killed. This happened because they had fought the night before.

Granted. Her creditability may be questioned in light of her recent plea deal involving perjury charges during his bond hearing. But Black Americans are arrested with regularity for lesser allegations of domestic violence.

The 911 caller – Shellie Zimmerman – reported George Zimmerman had punched her father and was threatening everybody with a gun. Zimmerman and his bodyguard, through Attorney Mark O’Mara, assert otherwise.

So, why didn’t Zimmerman let his attorney talk to his estrange wife and her father instead of going there? Why did he follow Martin after being told not engage in a pursuit?

The answer is pretty obvious. He took the law into his own hands. Arresting officer, judge, jury and executioner in Martin’s case. Hell bent on doing the same at his father-in-law’s home.

Again, no arrest. Instead, police want to investigate as they did when Zimmerman shot and killed Martin. Trouble is he walked free to move about with no apparent source of income.

Or is Zimmerman fuming over the possibility that some hidden assets or income will now be exposed as a result of his impending divorce?

For sure, he is miffed. And it isn’t just your typical divorce skirmish. No. Not all. George Zimmerman has fashioned a documented trail of bullyboy tactics and violence.

How long will he be allowed to be a social time bomb looking for another target to terrorize with impunity?
