    From Thor Barraclough

DAVIE, FL – United Way of Broward County (UWBC), the Community Foundation of Broward (CFB) and the Jewish Community Foundation (JCF) will join forces to host the 11th Annual Joint Tax and Estate Planning Seminar and Breakfast on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at Nova Southeastern University’s Rose and Alfred Miniaci Theater. The seminar will provide a meaningful educational forum for professionals involved in estate and trust services, as well as introduce them to the three major non-profit organizations in Broward County.

“This event is where professionals in the trust and estate field come together to discuss what’s new and innovative in planned giving and the philanthropic options our sponsoring organizations provide their clients,” said Kurt Zimmerman, Esq., event co-chair.

More than 500 professionals are expected to attend the event to hear keynote speaker, Steve R. Akers, J.D., of Bessemer Trust. Akers will speak on “Estate Planning Strategies in a Post-Election World.” Attendees will also learn more about the hosting organizations dedicated to improving the lives of all Broward residents.

Chairing the seminar are Kurt Zimmerman, Esq. of Zimmerman & Associates, representing the CFB, Terry L. Breitbord, CLU, ChFC, MSFS of New York Life Insurance Company, representing the JCF of Broward and Scott Rassler, JD, CLU, ChFC of Mahoney &Associates, representing UWBC.

Breitbord noted, “We have tremendous wealth here and it’s important to focus our efforts to build more community sup-port, especially for these three organizations that fund many needs in our community. The Annual Joint Tax and Estate Planning Seminar is a forum to build awareness and support among legal and financial professionals for the community strengthening initiatives of these organizations.”

“Collectively, United Way of Broward County, Community Foundation of Broward and Jewish Community Foundation improve the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of people in the county,” said Rassler. “For that reason, it is critical we support the sustainability of these organizations by helping them build their endowment funds through outright and planned gifts.”

The mission of the Joint Tax Seminar is to encourage the professionals who attend to have conversations with their clients about building a better community for their families and future generations by including these organizations in their estate plans. When the people in our community are thriving, quality of life improves and our businesses thrive.

Individual tickets are $50 and sponsorship opportunities are available. To register for the 11th Annual Joint Tax and Estate Planning Seminar and Breakfast visit jewishbroward.org/JointTaxSeminar. For more information, call Expert Business Solutions at (954) 370-0041.
