Traci Braxton, a musician who appeared with her family on the reality program “Braxton Family Values,” died on March 12 at the age of 50.

“She was a bright light, a wonderful daughter, an amazing sister, a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and a respected performer. We will miss her dearly,” reads a public statement written on behalf of the family.

According to her sister, music megastar Toni Braxton, Traci died in the “morning as the snow was falling.” According to reports, Traci Braxton has been fighting esophageal cancer.

“Braxton Family Values” premiered on WeTV in 2011 and ran for seven seasons. The episode focused on Toni, Traci, Tamar, Trina, and Towanda, as well as their extended family members.

Traci was a talented actor and singer who published albums in 2014 and 2018, with “Last Call” and “Broken Things” being her most popular tracks. According to her website, she spent most of her time working with disadvantaged children. Her spouse was Kevin Surratt, with whom she co-starred on the television program “Marriage Boot Camp.”  Their son, Kevin Surratt Jr., said on Instagram on March 12 that his mother fought her battle with cancer bravely.

“I love my mother forever and this hurts so much but I’m at peace knowing she’s not in pain anymore,” he said.
