ANN, Jamaica— History was written in thrilling style on Sunday, December 1, as Jamaica’sSara Misir blazed her way into the record books at the JRDC Final Showdown held at the iconic Dover Raceway.
Misir’s remarkable season culminated in her becoming the first woman ever to clinch the MP4 Class Championship, a ground-breaking feat that has forever altered the landscape of Jamaican motorsport.
A championship-winning drive
Entering the season finale with an imposing 16-point lead, Misir only needed a solid performance to secure her historic title. True to her form, she delivered a calculated and composed race. Starting in the front row alongside seasoned competitor Doug “Hollywood” Gore, Misir seized an early lead. Although mechanical issues saw her slip to second place by the race’s end, her seven-point haul was enough to clinch the championship with an unassailable 55 points, comfortably outpacing Gore’s 39 points.
While Misir celebrated her triumph, the day was less kind to Gore, whose first race ended in disappointment with a DNF (Did Not Finish), forcing him out of contention for the rest of the day.
Misir’s dominance this season extended beyond just the MP4 title. She achieved the unparalleled feat of being the first driver in Jamaican racing history to win all four Modified Production classes with the same car in its various configurations—a testament to her versatility, skill, and technical mastery.

Adding to the drama of the day, Kevin Chok demonstrated his racing prowess with back-to-back victories in the MP4 Class, propelling him to a third-place finish in the overall standings with 30 points. Chok’s performances on the final day injected even more excitement into an already electrifying season finale.
