Trump Intimidator-In-Chief

John Johnson

“Intimidators caught in the  clutches of justice, Shall  too bear the  pains of the intimidated.” . .       John Johnson II, 10/29/23

 By John Johnson II

America is the world’s most powerful superpower, capable of destroying  not only its enemies, but the planet itself. Yet our government is struggling to defend the U.S. Constitution, democracy, as well as the rule of law from former president Trump and Republican Congresspersons who operate more  as  a syndicate.  Trump’s  threatening  rhetoric to “root out the communists, Marxists. fascists and radical left thugs that live like vermin’s,” bestows upon him the title Intimidator-In-Chief.

To call anyone an intimidator, especially a former president, shouldn’t be used indiscriminately. However, if the idiom, “If the shoe fits, wear it,” accurately characterizes Trump as an intimidator he should accept it as true or cease threatening people, especially defenseless women.

Trump has latched on to idea that millions of Republican  voters are unhappy; therefore, he exploits their emotions. Armed with their support, he cast vengeance and intimidation towards his opponents. Members of his base also  detest the  idea that democracy is becoming an agonizing threat to white supremacy and   affirmative action is threatening because it interferes with white privileges.

Evangelicals close their eyes and ears to his threats no matter how many innocent people’s lives are endangered. They’re merely concerned about gaining more political/religious power to suppress women’s reproductive rights. Though decreasing, polls  still show that Evangelicals favor a liar, philanderer, and presidential nominee facing 91 felony indictments.

One would think Trump’s billionaire doner groups would come together and decide that not only is he bad for business, but this narcissist could by a simple blunder start World War III. It’s been  revealed that Trump contemplated using the military to quell protesters. Why wouldn’t he consider using the IRS to go after those who don’t enrich his empire or join his Mar-A-Lago Club?

Remember ousted House Speaker Kevin McCarthy traveled down to Trump’s  retreat to kiss his ring finger for forgiveness. We all know that only  helped   him temporarily secure the House Speakership. The new House Speaker Mike Johnson recently took the same trip to receive Trump’s anointment. Thus far, Johnson is spewing Trumpism with candor.

Trump, as the Intimidator-In-Chief, is becoming more embolden as he continues to defy gag orders. During the Thanksgiving holidays he launched a blistering attack against Attorney General (AG) Letitia James, Judge Arthur Engoron as well as his law clerk. He wrote that the (AG) is racist, and the judge is a “psycho.” No other individual, out on bond facing 91 felony indictments, could ever issue such  threats orally or by tweet and  not face incarceration.

According to George Santayana, there’s an essential truism about history, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”  The German people followed Hitler, a  psychotic murderer. Russians as well as Trump  are believing  Putin’s lies as he slaughters Ukrainians.

But why are Republicans behaving as lap dogs for Trump? Are they  oblivious to history? Maybe, his MAGA followers are suffering a DeSantis brain fog because of burning their  history books. Ill informed Rep. Kevin McCarthy had to be fact checked. He didn’t even know  his home state, California,  was taken from Mexico during the Mexican American War in 1848.

Consequently, the lack of knowledge about past  great empires led to the fall of 20th century empires  such as Germany, Ottoman Turkey, Japan, the British empire and Soviet Russia. The central issues that led to the collapse of these empires  are ineptitude leadership, political/social/economic problems, and wars. Trump swears that his second presidency will upend democracy. Is this not a sign of insanity?

Regrettably, America again finds itself seriously divided over issues involving race, social mobility, politics, democracy v. Republican’s Trumpism, and foreign wars. Despite these solvable  issues, they remain as explosive as  a ton of TNT due to Trump Intimidator-In-Chief serving as  a  human fuse.

Trump,  now Intimidator-In-Chief,   is not entitled to  favorable treatment  from any of the judges presiding over his trials.    By his own admissions of anti-democracy rhetoric and threatening remarks against officials of the courts, he represents a clear and present danger to America’s democracy and society’s civility.
