America’s society is currently under siege by a strain of insanity which seemed to have gone viral with the election of the former 45th president of the United States. During his reign as president, having infected members of the Republican Party and their base with his strain of insanity, the U.S. Constitution became as credible as a dead sea scroll. If insanity is defined as “one who jumps out of a plane without a parachute,” then certainly “one who knows he lost but believes he won and attempts a coup must be insane.
Trump’s level of insanity, which is more deadly than COVID-19, threatened to destroy not only our inalienable rights but our very existence as a “republic.” His strain of insanity has infected individuals at the highest levels of government, corporate executives, Evangelicals, and lay persons.
Need I mentioned Senators Ron Johnson and Greene as members of Trump’s unhinged syndicate. We dare not forget Michael J. Lindell, the “My Pillow Guy.” He’s the far-right conspiracy theorist.
America must pause for a second and think how close this insane former president came to overthrowing the U.S. government. Had former Vice President Pence not been convinced that Trump was insane, by former vice president, Dan Quayle, who couldn’t spell “potato,” he may have supported Trump’s failed coup.
The January 6, Commission has presented evidence that former President Trump ran the White House as though it was an insane asylum, staffed with idiots willing to carry-out his criminally conceived agenda. Yet, he’s able to continuously threaten public confidence in our free elections by spreading his lunacy about a fraudulent 2020 presidential election.
If the V.P. and a majority of Congresspersons invoked the 25th Amendment, our democracy wouldn’t remain threatened by Trump. And, had the Senate demonstrated integrity and honored their oaths to the U.S. Constitution by voting at least once to convict and remove Trump from office, he would be ineligible to run for any office.
Unfortunately, Trump has continuously managed to tilt the scales of justice in his favor. Now, as a privileged unhinged white man, he has the audacity to proclaim he’s considering running again for president in 2024. Is this not a sign of insanity for him to think that voters would return him to the presidency along with the nuclear codes? Did he not attempt to overthrow the government? Did he not say that Mike Pence deserved hanging and the rioters weren’t doing anything wrong?
Again, are these not signs that Trump is insane? If they are not, America has become the land of the insane and home for nincompoops.
