United Way Of Broward County’s Mission United Distributed Nearly 500 Thanksgiving Meals To Military Veterans, Active-Duty Military, National Guard, And Military Reservists On Monday, November 20

      FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. — United Way of Broward County’s MISSION UNITED distributed nearly 500 Thanksgiving meals to Broward County Veterans, Active Military, National Guard and Reservists on Monday, November 20, 2023, at United Way of Broward County’s Colker Center in Fort Lauderdale. The event served as a thank you to Broward County’s Veterans and Active-Duty Military members as they celebrate Thanksgiving with their families.

Miami Dolphins Player Blake Ferguson joined donors, volunteers, and staff to distribute the Thanksgiving meals. Distributed via “drive-thru” style in United Way of Broward County’s parking lot, the boxes of meals included items such as stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cornbread, and a $25 gift card to Publix.

Kathleen Cannon, President/CEO of United Way of Broward County; James Heaton, the Senior Director of United Way of Broward County’s MISSION UNITED; and Maria Hernandez, the Chief Program Officer of United Way of Broward County, were also on hand to greet guests and distribute the Thanksgiving meals.

“Each year, United Way of Broward County’s MISSION UNITED looks forward to this Thanksgiving dinner distribution as a way to say thank you to our Veterans, active military personnel and their families during the holiday season,” said Kathleen Cannon, President/CEO of United Way of Broward County. “We are grateful to the amazing community partners who make this event possible as it truly takes a village to make an impact.”
