    Frankly Speaking

    By Frank Wilson

When we vote we unleash the power that we have and can put on display like nothing else in our social economic or political system.

With the vote we help determine the trajectory of our cities, states and our country.

So sacred is the vote that white folk continue to keep us from the free exercising of that most powerful tool in our individual toolboxes.

Men and women died to make sure that America did not renig on this matter as it has on so many others.

The poet and my fraternity brother wrote ” Hold fast dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly.

Hold fast dreams for if dreams go.

    Life is a barren field.

    Covered with snow.

Our vote is an investment into the dream we have for ourselves and for our people.

When we don’t VOTE, we VETO our right to complain.
