    AFSCME’S Saunders:

    Submitted by Nick Voutsinos

WASHINGTON, DC – American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) President Lee Saunders released the following statement in response to the former president’s comments about cutting Social Security and Medicare:

“Today’s comments from Donald Trump about cutting Social Security and Medicare show once again why Joe Biden is the right choice for working families. Joe Biden believes that all people deserve to retire with dignity, and he continues to block any attempt to undermine our hard-earned retirement benefits. With Biden in office, working people can rest assured that Social Security and Medicare will never be on the chopping block.”

AFSCME’s 1.4 million members provide the vital services that make America happen. With members in communities across the nation, serving in hundreds of different occupations — from nurses to corrections officers, child care providers to sanitation workers — AFSCME advocates for fairness in the workplace, excellence in public services and freedom and opportunity for all working families.
