Work Opportunity for Sloper’s Youth

Good Afternoon Sunshine Slopers:Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez’ announces the launching of the Miami-Dade Youth Training and Employment Program in partnership with South Florida Workforce Investment Board (SFWIB).

The program affords young adults from low-income families the opportunity to be paired with administrators from various County departments to enhance their work readiness skills while earning a paycheck. Eligible participants must be 18-21 years of age and reside in Miami-Dade County. They will be placed in entry-level positions and have the opportunity to earn $10.00 an hour. Approximately 50 young adults will begin the program in March 2013 and will work a maximum of 20 hours per week through October 30, 2013.
