    ZETA-RHOOn behalf of the Zeta Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., its President, Mrs. Joeann Fletcher,  First  Vice President, Ms. Vickie Pearcey,  Second Vice President,  Ms. Annette Johnson Hurry, Chair,  Chapter Officers, a proud AKA  Economic Security International Program of Service  Committee, and also the 153 Chapter  members, sponsored  a  free “So You Want to Go To College” Workshop at the African American Research Library, in Sunrise, Fla. There were over 100 school-aged students present, in grades nine-12, from public, private, and/or online virtual schools, from  Broward County areas, with  their parents/guardians. With relevant topics of discussion, the workshop presenters discussed college admission requirements,   take home ACT/SAT test prep booklets,  scholarship information, State of Florida’s  Bright Futures eligibility requirements,  the application process, financial aid,  website resources,  and the  college life experiences about what to expect, when you have made a decision to go to college.  The well-planned   presentation also featured the preamble to the Chapter’s upcoming 2014 “AKAdemic Road Scholars” College Tour, which will take place during Broward County’s Spring Break, March 24-27, 2014. College Tour stops will include traveling to Florida Gulf Coast University, University of South Florida, University of Florida, Florida A & M University,  Florida State University, Bethune Cookman University,  and the University of Central Florida.
