     Walter Lee Byrd, at the age of 60 years, is a spiritual leader and longtime resident of Broward County. Mr. Bryd has been a mentor and teacher to many local church groups, children and adults in the art of GOJU Karate. He has studied Martial Arts with Grandmaster Joseph Hess, who is a former World Champion in Kick Boxing and was the head Police instructor with Broward College Police Academy in Davie, Florida since 1975 until his retirement in 2008.

     To address the ever-increasing demand for experienced cloud technology professionals, Miami Dade College (MDC) will open a state-of-the-art Cloud Computing Center at the Eduardo J. Padrón Campus.  As the only venue of its kind in Florida, the Center will allow technology leaders, industry experts and students to engage and learn about leading cloud platforms and receive industry certifications, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services, Generation and Microsoft. 

     “Spaces devoted to the history and legacy of people of color, especially women of color, are far too few in America today,” said John Legend. “Preserving places like the Simone childhood home will help keep her powerful story alive. This campaign pays tribute to Nina Simone’s unapologetic pursuit of musical, personal, and political freedom and I am proud to be a part of it.”
