     A new, nationwide effort will soon begin that allows entire communities to show their support for Bethune-Cookman University.  It will be based upon the well-known legacy of the university founder, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune—a legacy expanded after her death by succeeding presidents, Dr. Richard V. Moore and Dr. Oswald Bronson, Sr.

The Pompano Beach Cultural Center is proud to announce comedy TV star Carl Payne as host of the next Pompano Stand-up Live! on Saturday, November 2 at 8 p.m. Joining the former Martin star will be an outstanding lineup of comedians including the show’s opener Wanda Smith, fast-rising star Brandon Smiley and headliner Tony Tone.

     As I’ve watched an amazing resurgence with our Rattler Football team under the leadership of head coach Willie Simmons, I can only feel sorry for him at this point.  Of course there are three games remaining in the season, but the toughest stretch of the schedule is over.  The team has performed masterfully since the opening defeat against FBS opponent UCF.

     But, not when it’s the only medicine, responds the America that far too many have known and continue to know. Not when the United States alone is one of the world’s top 33 most developed countries that does not have a form of universal health care that covers all of its population.
