“Fifty-five years ago, a few of our children attempted to march across this bridge. We were beaten, we were tear gassed. I thought I was going to die on this bridge, but somehow and someway, God almighty helped me here,” Lewis offered while several people held the 80-year-old icon up to make sure the large crowd in attendance could see him and hear his encouraging words.

     The “Black Firewall” has changed the dynamics of the 2020 presidential campaign.  The question is what has the firewall earned?  What will be the return on the Black firewall’s political investment?  And what difference will the political contribution that the firewall is making, make in the individual lives of African Americans and in the African American community?

     My “friends” get offended when I say I don’t have any friends. Well it’s because I don’t; the ones that aren’t actually my family but support me and are there for me when I need them are called my family.

     The landmark radio host and “Fly-Jock” had a remarkable history.  He was born and raised in Tuskegee Alabama. Both of his parents were graduates of historically Black colleges.  Tom went to Tuskegee University. Tom Joyner graduated with a degree in sociology.[4] While a student at Tuskegee, Tom joined the  Omega Psi Phi fraternity.

McCoy Tyner was a legendary jazz pianist known for his time in the pioneering John Coltrane Quartet. Tyner played piano with Coltrane on his seminal albums “My Favorite Things” and “A Love Supreme.” The innovative pianist left Coltrane in 1965 and would release his own critically acclaimed albums including 1972’s “Sahara,” which garnered him a Grammy nomination.

Thanks to a long-standing partnership with the School Board of Broward County, more than 130,000 students from Broward County schools experience live theater each year at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts through Student Enrichment in the Arts (SEAS), the largest free arts-in-education program in the U.S.  To date, more than 3.3 million students have enjoyed a SEAS performance, thanks to the commitment of generous supporters who ensure that the program continues to thrive.
