It was a night of reflection, celebration, and renewed dedication to improving the lives of Blacks in Broward County in a number of areas as outlined in the Broward Black Action Plan which included EMPLOYMENT, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT/BLACK BUSINESS GROWTH, CRIMINAL JUSTICE, POLITICS, HOUSING, HEALTH, EDUCATION, AND TRANSPORTATION.
Then New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg with then President Barack Obama. Bloomberg, who has yet to directly compete in a Democratic primary or caucus, is courting Black voters through advertisements and private meetings – including a $3.5 million ad buy in the Black Press.
A Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll survey released last week found that 22 percent of African American voters approve of Trump’s job performance.
Jarrett M. Adams was wrongfully convicted of sexual assault at age 17 and sentenced to 28 years in a maximum-security prison. After serving nearly 10 years and filing multiple appeals, Jarrett was exonerated with the assistance of the Wisconsin Innocence Project
Sammy Davis Jr., was a popular actor, comedian, singer and dancer. After going through many racial injustices Davis used his fame for political means.
