 Dragging the floors of the Kathleen C. Wright building has been Peter’s priority this week. The Detective thought it was important to dig into the dirt and do some fact finding after two Board members, Debra Hixon and Sara Leonardi, claimed that 90 percent of the people they talked to have said they believe Cartwright is doing a great job and should keep her job?

Blacks and Jews in the United States have had a long history and tradition of working together and sacrificing together for freedom, justice, equality, and equity. Lest we forget that we have marched together for over a century. We have shared blood together. And we have died together for the cause of freedom in the Civil Rights Movement.

     Tamarac’s District 1 Commissioner, Marlon D. Bolton, was named Vice Mayor, following a vote by the City Commission. Bolton will serve in this capacity for a one-year term, while continuing his duties as Commissioner of District 1. Bolton was first elected to the Tamarac City Commission in November 2016. He was elected for a second term as District 1 Commissioner in November 2020.  

     How can you celebrate when cherished traditions feel tainted? Grief may cloud your emotions, making you feel anything but wonderful this season. And that’s okay. In fact, it’s expected. As you walk the winding road of loss, remember to create space to care for yourself.

    Help directly is best. It is also important to remember that sometimes asking for small favors can go a long way. Having someone come sit with your loved one in the evening to allow you to go to dinner with a friend can provide a much-needed break

     America throughout its history has embraced a sanctimonious white supremacists’ ideology. Religious tenets as well as laws codified   function to empower them. Colonialism also became a means to control and dominate others deemed less human. The new white settlers who arrived on the shores of America in 1600, from England, brought with them their  beliefs in slavery and ethnocentrism. In other words, the indigenous Natives  already living on their  land were called  savages and Black people deemed subhuman.
