Florida A&M just made a huge addition to its defensive line getting a transfer from its division rival.

     Richard, a 6-foot-3 dual-threat QB, was a 2022 Walter Payton Award finalist and finished his junior campaign leading the MEAC in passing yards (2,661), passing touchdowns (25), and rushing touchdowns (15). He was also voted MEAC Offensive Player of the Year and named Offensive MVP of the 2022 Cricket Celebration Bowl, a 41-34 win by the Eagles over Jackson State.

My morning routine involves walking around my complex while listening to the radio, sometimes news, sports,  music, or whatever strikes my fancy. On this particular morning I was listening to the Joe Madison show on Sirius XM, a talk radio show that welcomes audience participation via questions and comments on various subjects, mostly political in nature.

     I consider both of these passages to provide lessons for our nation and our people as we begin this 114th annual convention of the national association for the advancement of colored people.

     The settlement sets a precedent, potentially leading to complaints seeking compensation and control of Lacks’ cells, famously known as “HeLa” cells, the world’s first cells capable of replicating outside the human body.

Members of the CBC said that statements made by their GOP counterparts at the Capitol have deeply disturbed them, adding to the mounting discontent. Rep. Eli Crane from Arizona made an offensive comment during a House floor debate by referring to Black people as “colored people.”

Invocation

  Ol’ Pete has been sifting through rubble trying to make heads or tails of the complexities of construction projects within Broward schools.  In reviewing the most recent Grand Jury report, The Detective learned that while there is an effort to make the $900 million bond project and its construction seem insurmountable, there are dozens of other large school districts that have taken on similar bond projects involving even more money.
