MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins will open the 2013 NFL preseason schedule in front of a national television audience as they travel to Canton, Ohio to face the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL/Hall of Fame Game on Sunday, August 4 at 8:00 PM ET. The game will be broadcast live on NBC from Fawcett Stadium. The Dolphins will return to Canton for just the fourth time in team history and will be looking for the franchise’s first victory in annual contest. Miami suffered losses in the Hall of Fame Game to the Bears in 2005, St. Louis Rams in 2001, and the Philadelphia Eagles in 1978.

The 2013 preseason marks just the second time that the Dolphins have opened their preseason schedule against Dallas, the first took place in 1983 as Miami traveled to the Lone Star state and suffered a 20-17 defeat at the hands of the Cowboys. Overall, the Cowboys lead the preseason series against the Dolphins by a 4-2 margin.

The 2013 preseason road portion of the schedule will continue during Week One as Miami will travel to Jacksonville, it will be the 10th time the two intra-state rivals have faced each other in the preseason, with the Dolphins leading the series by a 5-4 count. The Dolphins close out their road preseason games with a trip to Houston to face the Texans. The matchup marks the first preseason matchup between the two franchises since 2002, the Texans’ first season in the NFL. For the first time since 2005 the Dolphins will open the preseason with three straight road contests.

The Dolphins will return home to South Florida as they welcome a familiar foe, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, to Sun Life Stadium. Miami and Tampa Bay will meet for the 13th consecutive season and the 20th time in 22 years. The preseason concludes for Miami against New Orleans as the Saints pay a visit to the Dolphins during the preseason for the first time since 2002.

The exact dates of the games, along with their times, will be announced at a later date.

WFOR-TV (Channel 4) will once again be the preseason home of the Dolphins as four preseason contests will be shown on the CBS affiliate in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale market. The road contests at Jacksonville and Houston matchups will be broadcast live. The Tampa Bay and New Orleans home games will be broadcast live if sold out 72 hours in advance of game time; otherwise they will be shown on a delayed basis. An announcement regarding the Dolphins’ television plans throughout the rest of the state of Florida will be made at a later date.

All preseason games will also be heard on WBGG 105.9FM and WINZ 940AM in Miami as well as across the Dolphins Radio Network.

Fans can purchase tickets for all 10 home games at Sun Life Stadium through season tickets.  To purchase season tickets, fans should call 1-888-FINS-TIX (1-888-346-7849) or visit Dolphins.com.  Miami Dolphins season tickets start at just $34 per ticket per game in the upper bowl and just $75 in the lower bowl.  With a season ticket membership, fans receive an average savings of 43% off the online ticket prices and they also receive exclusive access, experiences and savings.  Club seat memberships are also available starting at $160 per ticket per game.
