     Early on the morning of Monday May 20th, hundreds of African American and minority male middle and high school students from twenty of South Florida’s local schools made their way to Hard Rock Stadium for the Football Unites ™ Police and Youth Conference hosted by the Miami Dolphins.  This conference was designed to provide youth from the 5000 Role Models of Excellence program the opportunity to positively interact and create better relationships with local law enforcement officers.

The Miami Dolphins yesterday surprised the Santaluces Community High School football team with equipment to help create a safer and healthier environment for their programs. The donated equipment included Dolphins branded shirts, medicine balls, cleats, water bottles, step overs, footballs and Gatorade product. The team also had the opportunity to hear from Dolphins alum and Youth Programs Ambassador Twan Russell about being resilient.

The Miami Dolphins today hosted more than 800 local youth and high school coaches at their fourth annual Coaches Clinic presented by Nike and supported by Ephesus Sports Lighting and Gatorade at Hard Rock Stadium. Coaches from Charleston Southern University, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, the University of Central Florida, the University of Miami and St. Thomas University taught 33 different classroom and on-field sessions focused on game and practice techniques, motivational tools and core football competencies.

  On a cold, wintry Sunday afternoon in Green Bay, the Dolphins could not escape with a victory. At no point in the game could the Dolphins grab a lead nor score a touchdown. The final score was 31 to 12.

Since 1966, the Dolphins and Jets rivalry has been intense. There’s something about beating your rival twice a year that ignites the competitiveness and causes you to bring your a game. On Sunday, the Dolphins edged out a win 13 to 6 against the rival Jets. It was a tough, defensive low-scoring contest.
