The Miami Dolphins entered the bye week leading the AFC East with a 6-3 record. Since that devastating loss to Buffalo earlier in the season, the Fins have made remarkable progress offensively and defensively. With Tua and Tyreek leading the way and a healthy, cohesive offensive line, the offense should be more explosive in the second half of season. Defensively, the improvement has been steady and effective, sacking or pressuring the opposing QBs. Led by Chubb, Sieler, Wilkins and Phillips, the corner combo of Xavien and Jalen and aggressive LB play under DC Vince Fangio, Dolfans have got to feel good about the remainder of season. And don’t forget, the “A“ Chane is returning from the IR.

However, I must remind ya’ll: the Raider game may be the most difficult to overcome because of their resurgence since the coaching change and the 2 game winning streak. If you don’t believe that any NFL team can beat another on a given Night, just look at the MNF game and  the Denver Broncos’ upset victory over the Buffalo Bills. Be ready for a dogfight Miami!

In the SIAC, Miles’ victory over my Golden Tigers solidified a championship battle in Atlanta featuring the most dominant team in D-2 Black College football, Benedict and Quinn Gray’s surprising Albany State Golden Rams. Rumors persist that Benedict’s Chenis Berry may be headed to South Carolina State.

The world truly has gone haywire when a program can fire a national championship winning coach after annihilating an inferior opponent, and pay him $76,000,000 on the way out. See Texas A&M and Jimbo Fisher.

I personally think the Michigan saga, Coach Jim Harbaugh and sign stealing is much ado about nothing!

Broward/Miami-Dade regional football playoffs present some interesting matchups beginning with Booker T. Washington vs. Central at Traz Powell Stadium, a rematch of a regular season game won by Central. Coconut Creek, the highest ranked public school in Max Prep’s top 20 high schools, coming in at #16, plays West Boca. South Broward, unfortunately, lost last week to Miami Belen, a team that adapted its offensive scheme, the Wing – T, to match the players’ skill set. How refreshing!

Finally, I believe that the Blanche Ely Tigers will upset St. Thomas. Anyway, any public school that gets to this point has already won because they do it with homegrown talent! I’ll leave it at that.
