NATIONWIDE — Orrin C. Hudson, a world renowned chess champion, a motivational speaker, and the founder of Be Someone, a non-profit organization based in Atlanta, has become the first person in history to have taught 100,000 Black and Brown kids how to play chess.
Since 2001, Orrin has taught thousands of both children and adults at his local training center in Atlanta, Georgia. He also has traveled throughout the U.S. and also to countries like India, Dubai, Philippines, and France to teach young people how to navigate through the complexities of life and make their next move, their best move.
More than just a teacher of the game of chess, Orrin is a master motivational speaker that is also hired by Fortune 500 corporations and organizations to teach their employees team building, how to increase productivity, problem solving, critical thinking, and more.
He once did a 5-city tour with Disney to help promote the 2016 film Queen of Katwe starring actress Lupita Nyong’o, best known for her role in Black Panther.
For his work, he has been featured on The Tom Joyner Morning Show, CNN, Good Morning America, CBS’s Early Show, and more.
Orrin is available to travel to cities all around the world to teach young people how to play chess and apply the principles in life. He comments, “Moves matter. The moves young people make determine the roads they take.”
