HBCU All-Stars releases National Women’s Basketball watch list
Alexis Radcliff | Shaw University
Radcliff is the Bears’ leading scorer, averaging 14.6 points, with her season-high of 32 coming against Clinton College on November 27. The Akron, OH native has also been named to the CIAA Women’s All-Tournament team.
Amari Heard | Savannah State University
The senior guard has helped lead the Tigers to a 19-5 overall record and the apex team of the SIAC East with a 15-4 mark. Heard, a SIAC Women’s Basketball All-Conference First Team member, averaged a team-leading 14.3 points per contest, scoring 20 or more points 4 times on the season.
Angel Jackson | Jackson State University
Jackson State has largely stormed through the SWAC with an unblemished 14-0 record, and Jackson has been one of the prime drivers of the Tigers’ success. The Richmond, CA native and graduate student has garnered weekly honors multiple times during the season.
Aliyah Bryant | Fayetteville State University
Bryant helped lead the Lady Broncos to the CIAA’s Southern Division crown with a 26-2 overall record and 17-1 in CIAA play. The Louisburg transfer came up big in the CIAA Tournament Semifinals against Virginia State, scoring 31 points on a perfect 11-11 from the Lady Broncos’86-81 win over the Trojans.
Ahriaha Grizzle | Florida A&M University
Grizzle has paced the SWAC in scoring, putting up a conference-leading 19.0 ppg with a season-high of 31, achieved twice at North Florida and against Texas Southern. Her exemplary play on the court has earned Alabama transfer SWAC weekly honors four times in the season.
Caitlin Anderson | Tennessee State University
Anderson leads the Tigers in assists, 2.9 per game, free throw percentage, 75%, and attempts with 96. The Indiana State transfer is also the team’s fourth leading scorer, averaging 7.4 points, and is one of six Tigers that averages 1.0 or more steals per game.
Camryn Hill | Hampton University
The Oral Roberts transfer leads the Pirates with 14.4 points per game. In their most recent win, a 48-42 defensive slugfest over Hofstra, Hill led the way with 12 points.
Chanel Wilson | Bethune-Cookman University
Wilson paces the Wildcats in scoring, averaging 12.2 points per game, reaching double figures in all but 5 of the 20 contests she has appeared in. The McEachern High( Powder Springs, GA) product also leads the team in assists, 3.2, and in three-point percentage, 33%.
Cordasia Harris | Alabama State University
The senior forward averages a team-best 12.9 points per contest while leading the squad with 8.7 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, and a field goal percentage of 52.9%. Harris was named the December 19 SWAC Player of the Week after registering 32 points on 14-17 from the field against DePaul.
Coriah Beck | University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff
Beck is the Lions’ second-leading scorer, averaging 12.3 points per contest. The Memphis transfer had her second most prolific scoring game of the season in their last outing, a 21-point performance against Texas Southern on February 26.
Corianna Evans | Clark Atlanta University
The senior forward led the Lady Panthers in scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest. Evans was named to the SIAC Women’s Basketball All-Conference Second Team for the second consecutive season.
D’Mya Tucker | North Carolina A&T
Tucker has put together a solid Ensor campaign, averaging 11.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest. The senior guard posted a season-high 23 points against Guilford on November 11.
Gracen Kerr| Kentucky State University
Kerr led the SIAC in scoring and assists with a conference-best 17.2 points and 4.9 assists per game. She was named the SIAC Player of the Week four times, and Kerr was named the conference’s Player of the Year and earned a place on the SIAC All-Conference First Team.
Iyanna Warren | Howard University
Warren is averaging a career-best 12.0 points per game, reaching double figures in 16 of the 26 games she has appeared in on the season. She put in a season-best 26 points on January 6 against Morgan State on January 6. Warren also leads the Lady Bison with 3.3 assists per contest.
Kimera Burks | North Carolina Central University
Burks ranks 9th in scoring the MEAC, averaging 10.9 points per game, the third best on the Eagles. The redshirt senior was named to the 2023 Preseason All-MEAC First Team and was the November 22 MEAC Player of the Week.
Ny Langley | Virginia Union University
The Greenville, NC native is the Panthers’ leading scorer, averaging 14.2 points per contest. Langley, a senior forward, was named CIAA Player of the Week on December 11 for a 24-point, two steals, and one black effort on 11-18 shooting in a 77-64 win against Claflin on December 7 and a 27-point, six rebound performance in. 75-57 victory over against Augusta on December 9.
Ryann Payne | Prairie View A&M University
Payne leads the Panthers in scoring (16.0 ppg), assists (2.6), and steals (2.4 spg). The guard out of Los Angeles, CA, was named the Week 12 SWAC Impact Player of the Week for her stat-stuffing 17-point, four rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block performance in a win against Alabama State and the 27-point outing on 11-17 from the floor in a victory over Alabama A&M later in the week.
Sanaa’ St. Andre | Tennessee State University
The Kansas City transfer established herself this season as the Lady Tigers’ leading scorer, averaging 15.4 points per contest, dropping a season-high 37 points against Tennessee Tech on January 18. Throughout the season, the guard claimed St. Andre earned conference honors five times, a four-time Newcomer of the Week and Player of the Week once.
Shekinah Rachel | Fort Valley State University
Rachel ranked third in the SIAC in rebounding, 9.7 RPG, steals, 2.9 SPG, and blocks, 1.0 big on the way to being named SIAC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Year. The All-SIAC First Team member also averaged 13.1 points and ten double-doubles in helping to lead the Wildcats to a 14-10 overall and 12-7 SIAC record, second in the SIAC East, which was their first winning season since a 15-13 mark in the 2012-13 campaign.
Zaay Green | University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff
Green is a four-time SWAC Player of the Week and one of the favorites to win the SWAC Player of the Year. Her 16.3 points per game lead the Lady Lions and also ranks second in the SWAC, trailing only F AMU’s Ahriahna Grizzle’s 18.5
The honorees from the list will be recognized on Sunday, April 7, 2024, during the Third Annual HBCU All-Star Game in Phoenix, Arizona.
