Mother charged after her five-year-old daughter shoots herself in the head

The only thing worse than losing; a child is to know that your bad decisions led to the child’s death. Even worse than that is to be charged with a crime by police.
A five-year-old girl shot herself to death her mother is now being charged with a crime. The New Orleans Police Department has charged Laderika Smith with second-degree murder. The mother locked her child inside the house while she went to the store. That’s when the child died.
The little girl found her mother’s gun and shot herself in the head. The 28-year old mother is being accused of causing the negligence which led to the little girl shooting herself to death.
The mother found the girl lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head. She took her to the hospital, where the girl ended up dying in the hands of her doctors.
This is a warning for parents who keep guns in the house. Please be safe and realize that a child can always find his/her way into your private things.
