TALLAHASSEE, FL — Head coach Gokhan Yilmaz celebrated his 100th career victory in Florida A&M’s commanding 3-0 win (25-5, 25-11, 25-18) over Alcorn State. With this triumph, Yilmaz’s impressive coaching record stands at 117-93 overall, including 100 wins with FAMU volleyball.
The conference win improved Florida A&M’s record to 15-5 overall and 7-0 in SWAC play.
Farah Farooq finished with seven kills on the day to lead the Rattlers attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .417. Sydney Humes also added six digs to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Rattlers won the first point and never trailed to win it 25-5. Florida A&M opened up its biggest lead, 20 points, to finish off the set, totaling 16 kills with a .762 attack percentage without notching an attack error in the set. Florida A&M also supplemented their offense with six aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | Florida A&M continued to roll after a set-one win by earning a 25-11 victory in set number two. The Rattlers took control of the set lead early on at 3-2 and held the lead the rest of the way. The Florida A&M offense also got a boost from five aces in the stanza.
SET 3 | Florida A&M led by as many as 12 points at 15-3 before closing out the stanza. The Florida A&M offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.
