The city of Miami Gardens is ready to serve another edition of the Miami Open, one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) calendars. Set to take place from March 16-30 at Hard Rock Stadium, this 15-day event is widely regarded as the most glamorous stop on the tour, drawing in the world’s top players, celebrities, and sports enthusiasts.
A Star-Studded Field
The 2025 Miami Open boasts an elite roster of competitors, featuring 15 Grand Slam champions and 31 players who have won a combined 124 ATP and WTA 1000-level titles. This year’s tournament will see the return of some of the sport’s biggest names, ensuring an action-packed fortnight of competition.
Four past Miami Open champions headline the field on the men’s side. World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz (2022 champion) leads the charge, alongside No. 6 Daniil Medvedev (2023), No. 20 Hubert Hurkacz (2021), and six-time champion Novak Djokovic, making his long-awaited return to Miami after a six-year absence. Fans will also be eager to watch No. 2 Alexander Zverev and No. 5 Casper Ruud, both former finalists, as they attempt to secure their first Miami Open title.
The women’s draw is equally stacked, with defending champion Danielle Collins vying for back-to-back titles. She will face stiff competition from world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, No. 2 Iga Swiatek (2022 champion), and three-time winner Victoria Azarenka. Elena Rybakina, ranked No. 7, will be chasing her first Miami Open title after finishing as runner-up the past two years. Adding to the excitement, former Grand Slam champions Naomi Osaka and Jelena Ostapenko will also be in the mix, hoping to make deep runs in the tournament.
The Rise of American Tennis
