Do you ever wonder why March is considered the windiest month of the year? Believe it or not, there are some scientific and atmospheric conditions that cause this to happen.
With the sun heating up the Earth’s surface, pouches of warm air form. These pockets of warm air start moving towards the cold thick air that is lingering around from winter. The variance in the air quantity temperatures (between the warm air and cold air) generate differing pressures, which in turn create winds. The basic thing is that hot and cold air come together to create this windy force.
Have you ever noticed how some things hold on to whatever they are attached to during these atmospheric forces?
The flag blowing in the wind holds on to the rope that’s connected to the pole like it was either a life-and-death situation. That flag becomes battered, ripped, torn and shredded, but it still holds on.
A limb caught in the storm of a hurricane seems to scream with agony while a palm tree bends to the ground, but it holds on to its roots never letting go. Coconuts may fly like bullets, but that palm tree holds on to its roots better than the most expensive weave track jobs done on some of the super models.
Yes, sometimes the wind gets the best but not without a “good fight”.
This picture of things holding on during the movement of angrily and forceful winds orchestrated in a specified direction, remind me of the rough times that we go through. Even though this violent disturbance of the atmosphere maybe complemented with rain, thunder and lightning, it is no match for what our faith can produce as an anchor in our God.
John 15:5 is an example for me during these storms, when Jesus says, “I am the Vine and you are the branches…”
What that means to me is that Jesus is the connecting force that keeps us together through whatever situation we’re going to and going through.
Trying to get the situation over and done with without Jesus who made the strength in branches that allows them to hold on to the Vine is like “fighting against the wind”.
So whatever storm we’re in, whatever condition that we’re going through, we have to hold on to Him no matter if “the tempest is raging and the billows are tossing high; the sky is overshadowed with blackness no shelter or help is nigh…” God is able!!
“Lord God I pray that even before the storms of life find their way at my door, my hatches are batten down and secured with my faith rotted in You. Amen.”
THERE IS NO WIND KNOWN TO MAN THAT CAN BLOW AWAY GOD’S GRIP!
