What the Eagles expected to be a cakewalk, turned out to be good win for Miami. Dolphins entered the game at 2-9, while the Eagles entered at 5-6. It is a horse race in the NFC East, with Cowboys leading the division at 6-6. Eagles are now a game behind. A win yesterday would’ve had the Eagles at 6-6, tied with Dallas.
Under center for Miami yesterday was Ryan Fitzpatrick, who had an overall good game. The first play of the game Fitzpatrick threw an interception, and the Eagles capitalized, ending their drive with a touchdown. It looked as if they were off to a bad start, but he managed to shake off that interception and throw for 365 yards and 3 touchdowns. “On offense we got into a good rhythm. Our defense really stepped up and it was the complementary football. The touchdown by the special teams was amazing. Just a cool 
play. But I think we all stumbled a little bit in our different phases, but then we really all stepped up and came together and played well in the second half when we had to,” says Fitzpatrick. “I think it speaks volumes for this team. All year, the way that we’ve stayed at it and haven’t flinched and all those clichés you could throw out – that’s what this team is. That’s a pretty rewarding win to be down like we were and to not have anybody on the sideline thinking that we weren’t going to be able to come back. The way we did it in the second half, it was fun to be a part of.” Miami was down 21 to 14 at halftime, and the
Eagles got the ball first in the third quarter, scoring on their first drive leaving the Dolphins down 28 to 14.
Fitzpatrick’s favorite target was DeVante Parker who finished the game with 159 yards on seven receptions and two 
touchdowns. He and tight end Mike Gesicki had big catches, giving the offense a boost. The Eagles defense broke down in the second half, but they managed to get three sacks for the game. Carson Wentz for the game threw for 310 yards and three touchdowns and one interception. His favorite target, Alshon Jeffery, had nine receptions for 137 yards. The Dolphins run game was still deplorable with three running backs rushing for a total of 25 yards. Any other team that may have not been enough to get a win. On the other side, the Eagles two running backs rushed for a total of 92 yards.
The Dolphins next game is a tough road rivalry game against the New York Jets. Earlier at home the Dolphins beat them 26 to 18. I can guarantee both teams have this game circled on their calendars and will give it 120% to come out victorious. Can Dolphins go up 2-0 on the Jets or will Jets find a way to split 1-1.
