It was a harrowing five days for Florida A&M running back Kelvin Dean Jr., but there’s a happy ending to the story.

Dean, the offensive MVP of the Rattlers’ 30-26 win over MEAC champion Howard University in the Celebration Bowl, was the victim of a robbery when last Monday, someone went into his car and stole his Southwestern Athletic Conference championship ring.

According to a report by The Tallahassee Democrat, Dean received a phone call from an anonymous individual who retrieved the ring and returned it to him on Friday. Saturday morning, Dean posted the goods on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Dean, a transfer from Florida Atlantic, caught three passes for 87 yards, including touchdowns of 53 and 24 yards, in the Rattlers’ Celebration Bowl triumph. He collected 554 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns during the 2023 season.
