African American female entrepreneur opens phlebotomy wellness center

Last Tuesday marked a historical moment in Fort Lauderdale history, as African American female entrepreneur, Alicia Malone, opened her very own phlebotomy wellness center: A&M Phlebotomy. The center is located at 5800 E Commercial Boulevard, Suite 212 in Fort Lauderdale, just outside of the Lauderdale-by-the-Sea community.

The A&M PHLEBOTOMY WELLNESS CENTER is designed to offer patients a more cozy, intimate alternative to overcrowded, impersonal draw centers. The center offers blood draws with and without prescriptions, with and without insurance. Affordable cash services are available.

The Grand Opening, held last Tuesday evening, treated guests to a tour of the facility, health talks from medical professionals and staff, soothing jazz music, photo opportunities, health raffles, a delicious food and fruit buffet topped off with wine and cupcakes.

Several South Florida medical professionals were in attendance including but not limited to Dr. Paul G. Preste of Paul G. Preste MD & Associates in Fort Lauderdale and Chiffon Holliday, ARNP, of Jackson Health Systems in Miami, along with many sales and marketing managers and representatives from neighboring laboratories and medical facilities throughout the South Florida community. Ted Victor of the Broward Social Network, which highlights entrepreneurial achievements and activities within the African American communities in and around Broward County, was also in attendance,.

Ms. Malone has worked in the medical profession for nineteen (19) years and has paid her dues. Humbly starting her career as a temp for Quest Lab, she has worked her way through the ranks with positions at North Fulton County Hospital in Atlanta, Florida Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL and Hollywood Medical Center in Hollywood, FL.

“…I have always wanted to do more for the community… and provide a viable service that helps others…” says Malone.

The A&M Phlebotomy Wellness Center will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information or to book and appointment, please call the office at (954) 451-5727.
