America Cast Black Men as Targets For Murder!

    Black men in America are cast in real life roles as targets for murder. These murders could be committed by police officers or a white supremacist group out on patrol. While this may sound absurd to the average white person, it’s a living reality for Black men. But how can this be factual? The Washington Post reported though Black’s account for only 13 percent of the U.S. population, they’re killed by police at more than twice the rate of white Americans. These figures are magnified in a single Hollywood movie.

Hollywood through its movies has often presented a comparison between the perilous life of a Black man and that of its main character who’s cast as a “dead man.” This character lived in constant fear of being murdered. One could say, “He was targeted for murder.” However, if this character was the star, he usually manages to avoid being murdered. Unfortunately, a Black man’s life’s script in America is seldomly written with a happy ending.

In America, Hollywood’s cinema is society. Black men find themselves cast as “dead Men,” who must live in perpetual fear of being targeted for murder. Fortunately, anyone with a cell phone instantly, not necessarily by choice, can become a crime fighter and producer of a real-life documentary. Filming has become a natural response when anyone captures a white police officer stopping a Black man. This occurs because on the streets, police officers are known as the judge, jury, and executioner. Far too many are seen as executioners rather than as social servants for the community.

Even children, without so much as a second thought, instantly begin recording every instance of the interaction between a Black man and white police officers. Sadly, they’re conditioned to the fact that encounters may turn deadly. The opportunity for the dead man’s family to receive justice is nearly impossible without a live recording.

In order to further unravel the “essence” of this article, it is important to review the following real instances of how Black men have been targeted for murder:

1. Trayvon Martin (walking home) – Murdered Feb. 26, 2012 by a white man, a self-appointed neighborhood watchman. No conviction.
2. Michael Brown (walking in neighborhood, unarmed) Murdered Aug. 9, 2014 by a white police officer. No charges filed,
3. Freddie Gray (arrested, possession of a knife on April 15, 2015) Died several weeks later as a result of a nearly severed spinal cord which occurred while transported by police officers. No convictions.
4. Tamir Rice (playing with a toy gun in park) Murdered on Nov 22, 2014 by white police officer. No charges filed.
5. Breonna Taylor (sleeping in bed) Murdered on Mar. 13, 2020 by white police officer. Grand Jury failed to indict officers.
6. Ahmaud Arbery (Jogging) Murdered on Feb. 23, 2020 by white men acting as self-appointed community watchmen. Accused have only been charged with murder.
7. George Floyd (suspicion of using a counterfeit bill) Murdered on May 25, 2020 by a white police office (on trial for second and third-degree murder).
8. Daunte Wright (Murdered during a traffic stop April 2021. White officer arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter.

Unfortunately, the list of senseless murders is far too long to be covered here. It can no longer be ignored that racism is systemic in America, and it plays a major role in causing Black men to be cast as targets for murder!

If elected Republican Senators and Representatives can openly endorse racist legislations, boldly support white supremacy ideology, strongly refuse to adopt commonsense gun regulation, and strategically corrupt the criminal justice system as well as the Supreme Court with staunch conservatives’ appointees, America will always be a Nation plagued by target murders of Black men and senseless mass murdering of the innocent.

Take note America!  All past great empires have fallen due mainly to their inept, corrupt, and partisan governance, which made them easy prey for external conquest. America only needs to add fascism and white supremacy to this list of precursory elements of doom.

The deliberate mass incarcerations and targeted murder of Black men will eventually constitute the arrows of justice to annihilate America’s centuries old Achilles’s heel of racism, bigotry, and white supremacy ideology.
