    America’s Political wilderness

    By Lucius Gantt

When serious political candidates decide to seek election or reelection there are two things they consider first – where they can get money and where they can get voter support.

For money and campaign contributions, they go to Wall Street where bankers, insurers and other financially wealthy individuals and businesses are. They hold meet and greet receptions in Silicon Valley, Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Miami, Miami Beach, Manhattan, Chicago, Los Angeles and other cities where rich people reside.

For voter support, they look toward fundamentalist churches, Tea Party groups, organized labor groups, business owners, sports team owners, athletes, entertainers and even foreign nationalists from faraway places like China, Saudi Arabia, The United Kingdom and The Soviet Union.

The last, and perhaps the most important, place candidates look for political votes is in America’s wilderness!

Where is the wilderness? America’s political wilderness is where most of the people that read The Gantt Report live.

The wilderness is like a concrete jungle sometimes where the inhabitants wonder how they keep from going under!

There isn’t a lot of money in the wilderness. There are no mega businesses and the few shops there are primarily owned by entrepreneurial vampires that come there, over charge the residents for substandard and poor quality products and merchandise and then take any profits made to their homes in the more affluent suburbs.

In the Biblical book of Mark, the spirit led Jesus to the wilderness shortly after Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.

And what did Jesus find in the wilderness? Jesus found in the Biblical wilderness the same thing you’ll find in America’s political wilderness, the wild and satanic beast!

I know you don’t like for me to write like this but it’s true. The Biblical satanic beast is just like today’s beast!

    Can I prove it? Yes!

In the wilderness satan did everything he could to turn Jesus from right to wrong. Satan tried to trick Jesus. Satan tried to fool Jesus. Satan offered to give Jesus power and wealth that already belonged to the Son of God.

And in today’s election times, that sly devilish beast tries to do the same thing to you.  Today’s devil will suggest that he is your friend, that he is your benefactor, that he is your political savior and if you throw your support behind the beast everything will be better for you.

Jesus didn’t fall for satan’s BS and don’t you fall for it either!

The same thing that saved Jesus while he was in the Biblical wilderness is what will save you in America’s political wilderness.

Jesus believed in the power of God and the power of the truth!

Stop believing what you hear about lying politicians on Fox news. Don’t even trust what you hear in so-called majority media newspapers and television shows.

If you’ve got to believe in something before you make political decisions, believe in yourself, believe in Black newspapers, believe in Black internet sites and believe in Black political professionals that have a history of telling the truth about politics and politicians!

History is the best teacher. Your community, your neighborhood and your street can be better. It can improve if Black people unite, help each other, work together and do business with each other.

If you don’t know, places like Rosewood and Oconee in Florida were desolate, so to speak, until Blacks worked together and build those cities up. Tulsa’s “Black Wall Street” grew and thrived when our people put their heads, hands and hearts together.

When those Black cities rose to higher heights, Klansmen, corrupt lawmen and other devilish beasts burned those towns to the ground.

But today, if you burn down a thriving Black neighborhood every neighborhood will experience the heat! Young Blacks are not like their Uncle Tom parents and will fight fire with fire!

So, let’s change today’s wilderness. Let’s follow leaders that will create jobs, improve housing, be good family men and women that raise children the right way and let us respect and love each other and ourselves.

Let’s change America’s political wilderness into a Black political paradise!  (Buy Lucius Gantt’s latest book, Beast Too: Dead Man Writing on Amazon.com and from bookstores everywhere.
