The Supervisor of Elections’ Office will kick off the annual Spring High School Voter Registration Drive (HSVR) April 1st – April 30th 2022. The drive is presented in partnership with Broward County Public Schools to educate and get students registered to vote. All public high schools in Broward County will have the opportunity to register eligible students to become registered voters.
The fire broke out Saturday afternoon, destroying about 123 acres by that evening. Roads and highways near the fire were closed. The Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against Galveston County, Texas, challenging its redistricting plan for the Commissioners Court. The move comes following the county’s decision to adopt a new map after data was published about population growth in the 2020 Census. As previously reported, the agency found that between 2010 and 2020, communities of color had grown by 95 percent.

U.S. service members and their families may be eligible for certain immigration benefits in recognition of their important sacrifices. Current service members may be eligible to become U.S. citizens through naturalization under special provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). These provisions reduce or eliminate certain general requirements for naturalization, including the requirements for the applicant to have resided in and been physically present in the United States for a specific period of time before naturalizing.
