     On the surface, the stay issued Feb. 7, 2022, in Merrill v. Milligan was procedural. In a 5-4 decision, the justices halted a district court’s injunction that had barred Alabama from using a newly redistricted map in the upcoming 2022 elections. The Supreme Court will hear the full case in its next term starting in the fall, with the ruling due by the end of June 2023 – after this year’s midterm elections.

     “Frederick McKinley Jones was a prolific early 20th century Black inventor who helped to revolutionize both the cinema and refrigeration industries.  Over his lifetime, he patented more than sixty inventions in divergent fields with forty of those patents in refrigeration. He is best known for inventing the first automatic refrigeration system for trucks.

      Trump’s rise to the presidency of the U.S. was far easier than that of Adolph Hitler’s feat of becoming Chancellor of Germany. How-ever, Trump’s removal from the White House by America’s voters didn’t end as tragically as was Hilter’s suicidal ending. Nevertheless, the Republican Party, due to their fear, lust for power, and wealth has allowed Trump to reign as though he’s carrying the title once bestowed upon Hitler’s “Fuhere.”

J.M. Huber Corporation (Huber), one of the largest family-owned manufacturing companies in the United States, announced today that it has donated $250,000 to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) as part of its Huber Helps community engagement initiative and its commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I).
